The CES has organized, at the Maison des sciences économiques, a workshop on labour in developing countries with the support of the GDRI network. Several research members of the network have presented a communication among the 50 participants that attended this event.
Simon Quinn (Oxford University) was the keynote speaker. He presented his paper entitled Self-Employment, Capital and Job Search: Evidence from a Structural Model (with Michael Koelle). Over the three sessions, participants have exchanged about the offer and demand on labour markets and the impact of public policies on those markets. The main issue for developing countries is how SME and multinational enterprises can offer better jobs to the youth.
